Lovely taste! The best from the whole series.

Ola Dubh Special Reserve 30 330ml, 8% - Scotland

Bottled March 2009.

Pours black with a creamy head.

Whiskey aroma up front, oak and vanilla.

Now I can taste both whiskey and oak! Chocolate, vanilla and malts in the flavor.

This gets better with each whiskey year.

Ola Dubh Special Reserve 18 330ml, 8% - Scotland

Bottled July 2009.

Pours black with a one finger cappuccino colored head.

Oak, dark fruits, vanilla, toffee and chocolate in the aroma.

I can taste the wood, lovely oak. Malts, toffee, nuts, chocolate and hints of dark fruits.

I do get some whiskey peat here, but it's very thin.

Slightly creamy and oily. Still medium bodied!

Founders Curmudgeon 355ml, 9.8% - USA

Pours deep, murky orange with a one finger creamy, tan head.

Slightly sweet candy aroma. Malty, not getting anything else here.

Mildly roasted malts. Sweet, syrupy flavor. Caramel, dark fruits with bready notes. Sweet, warm and the high ABV is pretty much invisible.

Old Stock Ale 2009 355ml, 11.5% - USA

Poured slightly dark red with a small tan, yellow head.

Boozy aroma with some cherries and malts.

Warm and sweet taste. Brown sugar, prunes, malts, caramel and of course some boozyness. Although it's quite pleasant.

I want to this after being cellared for some time.

Oppigårds Easter Ale 500ml, 5.3% - Sweden

Clear amber color with no head.

Floral and grapefruit aroma. Piny and malty.

Toffee, malts, biscuit, nuts and hops in the flavor. It has this weird metallic hint in the bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation.

Thomas Hardy's Ale 2007 250ml, 11.7% - England

Poured red color with no head or carbonation what so ever.

Malty aroma, together hints of caramel, raisins and plums.

Very sweet taste. Lot's of caramel here, malty touch that gives some bourbon. Raisins and plums make entrance towards the end. This does remind me a bit of an American barley wine.

I have three more bottles at home which will be cellared. :)

Fuller's Vintage Ale 2009 500ml, 8.5% - England

Reddish color with a darker head.

Sweet aroma. Feels like bourbon or cognac. Dried fruits and sugar.

Dried fruits flavor overcomes by a lot of bitterness. Malty taste with some caramel, cherries and brown sugar.

Maybe this should age for a few years?

Chocolate Tom 330ml, 6% - England

Dark red, almost brown color, topped with an air full vanilla head.

The smell is amazing! Full aroma of chocolate and fruitcake.

At first you get this sour touch as soon as it hits your tongue, then the chocolate flavor takes over.

Very rich flavor, well balanced brew. Chocolate beer fans will love this!

Hibernation Ale 355ml, 8.7% - USA

Poured dark, dark brown with a light yellow two finger head. Some lacing is noticeable.

Smells roasted malts with earthly hops.

The first thing I taste are hops and dried fruits. Roasted caramel comes with the after taste. The taste even contains some licorice, grapefruit and nuts.

The abv is hardly noticeable. This beer keeps you warm inside, like a good whiskey.

Strong Suffolk Vintage Ale 500ml, 6.0% - England

Poured dark black with one finger bronze head.

Very sweet but at the same time spicy smell, hints of caramel and toffee.

What an amazing and rich flavor! We have caramel, burned toffee, roasted malts, some cappuccino, different varieties of spices and fruits. It even tastes like those Christmas cakes that are produced by Glenfiddich.

Mouth feel is great. It's soft and gentle, a bit creamy. The level of carbonation is just about right.

I'm well chuffed that I tried this and you all should do the same!
